Work permits for a foreign nanny in Turkey

A foreign nanny in Turkey is employed on a work permit — a residence permit alone does not authorise work. The hiring family obtains the permit, and it is tied to a specific home address. The application requires an e-signature token and proof of household income of at least TL 110,000 per month via bank statements.

If the candidate already holds a residence permit valid for six months or more, the permit can be filed from within Turkey; otherwise it goes through the consulate and the nanny starts only after approval. Once she begins, the employer registers her with SGK (social security) and pays premiums — without this the permit is invalid. We guide you through each of these steps.
