Limassol has long been nicknamed “Limassolgrad”: Russian-speakers are a significant part of the city, and the community grew further after 2022. Demand for nannies who speak Russian with the child is among the highest in Cyprus. Here’s where to look, what it costs and what to watch for.
Where Russian-speaking families live
Demand concentrates in the eastern, seaside part of the city:
- Germasogeia, Agios Tychonas, Potamos Germasogeias, Mouttagiaka — villas and apartments by the coast.
- Panthea — a prestigious hillside district.
- The centre, Old Town and the Limassol Marina area.
This is also where Russian schools, kindergartens and communities are — so a Russian-speaking nanny is realistic to find, though candidates should be vetted.
What it costs
Cyprus has a regulated minimum for foreign domestic staff — around €460 per month plus accommodation (and mandatory social-insurance contributions). But that is the entry-level floor.
Qualified Russian- and English-speaking nannies, governesses and newborn specialists cost noticeably more and are agreed individually. The final figure depends on the format (live-in / live-out), experience, languages and duties.
